Every user can access the settings of their own account: backend language, time zone and date format for input.
The “Preferred language version” sets how multilingual records are listed in the backend. The input form accordingly opens this language version first.

Clicking “Frontend editing” enables editing via the website: if the template programmer has set it up, an edit marker appears next to every piece of content on the website. Spot a typo, click it, correct it: the matching input form opens immediately, without having to look for the content in the backend first. Visitors do not see the markers.
