Content areas instead of database tables

New types of content such as products, events or branches are set up in the backend, not in the database. Fields can be added at any time, even while the website is in operation, without a single line of code and without commissioning a programmer.

Every content area fully equipped

Every new content area immediately comes with an input form, search, record list, batch processing, CSV, DOCX and XML export, multilingual support, working copies, trash and access rights. What other systems have to develop separately for each type of content is already available here for every content area.

Real data types, fast queries

Fields are typed: text, integer, currency amount without rounding errors, date with time zone, file, relation. Each type is validated and sorted appropriately and stored in its own indexed tables. This keeps queries fast even with large amounts of data.

One field name, one meaning

Field names apply system-wide. A field date in news, events and blog is the same everywhere, which is why templates can filter and sort these content areas together. A timeline across three content areas is therefore a single command.

Link instead of maintaining twice

Authors, places, keywords or images are created once and linked as often as needed, one-way or two-way, with one or several targets and freely sortable. If something changes, you change it in one place, and it applies everywhere.

Change the structure later on

Turning a text field into a number, making a field multilingual, converting a multiple relation into a single relation: “Change type” converts all existing content along with it and warns you beforehand if data could be lost in the process.

Many websites, one installation

Any number of websites with their own domains, languages and content run in one installation. Websites can share content of others, for example a common product catalog for several branches. Everything is maintained centrally, with rights per website.

Multilingual where it is needed

Whether a field is translated is set per field. Prices and dates remain single-language, texts are translated. When a new language is added, it is complete immediately, because the primary language steps in until the translation is done.

Copy structures in minutes

A content area can be copied with all its fields and template assignments. Ready-made templates such as “Articles”, “Members” or “Comments” create a content area including its fields with one click. This quickly turns a proven structure into a new one.

Export entire structure trees

The XML export transfers folders, content areas, fields, templates, records and files to another installation. This is how a development gets from the test environment to the live environment, and one customer's website becomes the template for the next. Relations are retained, even if all the numbers change.

Template sets: features ready to install

News, events or a members' area can be imported as ready-made packages of templates and content areas. The import adjusts references to content areas and records by itself. The features are then ready for use immediately.

Rights down to the last detail

User groups receive rights per module, website, language and content area. Write and delete rights distinguish between your own and other people's content. This way, two editorial teams can maintain the same content area, or translators can read all languages and edit only their own.

Images and videos are processed automatically

Every upload automatically produces the versions required: image sizes, thumbnails, web-ready videos, still images. The converters can be chained and, if necessary, regenerated for the entire stock. Time-consuming conversions run in the background.

Security built in

Personal data is stored encrypted in the database, passwords are stored irreversibly. On top of that come two-factor sign-in, a lock after repeated failed attempts and signed rights: even someone with direct access to the database cannot use it to gain any rights.

Community without additional software

Registration, sign-in, profiles, visitor contributions and protected downloads are built in. Profiles and contributions are ordinary records, which is why the same tools apply to them as to all other content: search, export, batch processing and proofreading.

Worry-free updates

Updates run via Composer. Before every change to the database, camindo CMS automatically creates a backup, maintenance mode protects the website during the update, and the way back is documented.

Operations at a glance

The scheduler creates daily database backups and runs your own tasks. The logs can be searched by severity in the backend. A widget on the start page reports blocked sign-ins, failed emails and errors.

Caching

Caches ensure high performance despite dynamically generated pages. Template caching makes it possible to deliver individual parts of a page or entire pages statically.
