Edit record
Input forms are structured individually for each content area. Input fields of different types are arranged one below the other. At the very bottom are the “Save” and “Cancel” buttons.
- A lookup field (in the example “This is a variant of”) lets you link the record to other records. Type a search term into the gray area and then click the magnifier button: a list of matching records appears, which you link by ticking their checkboxes. The titles of linked records appear below the lookup field. (In the example, one link already exists.)
- An upload field (in the example “Image”) lets you upload a file from your local computer (“Select file” button) or select a file that has already been transferred via FTP (button with folder icon). The file is then stored on the web server together with the text content. Whether it is publicly accessible or only after a visitor has signed in depends on the field settings. These are set by the administrator, who also creates thumbnail fields to generate versions of the file automatically, such as a smaller preview image or the still image of a video.
If several languages are set up, tabs appear at the top of the input form for switching between the languages. Only fields with a suffix (in the example “de_DE”) change their content per tab; all other fields remain the same in every language version.
You can cancel editing at any time. The new content only replaces the existing content when you save. Relations and files that were applied temporarily, for example when switching tabs, also only overwrite the existing content with the final save.
